After being diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 17, HAPA has since tried to find ways of giving back to the epilepsy community in an effort to raise awareness about the condition that effects millions of people around the world. Currently, HAPA is a national spokesperson for Epilepsy Therapy Project and Epilepsy.com. For more information about ETP, please visit www.epilepsy.com

My name is Eric and I’ve had Epilepsy since I was born, 52 years ago. I think I’m still here purely by miracle.
For the first time in my life, there is hope.
My wife and I have spent the last two years traveling to Sacramento and San Francisco in hopes that I might be a candidate for surgery. Another miracle has occurred, I am a candidate. The Dr’s at UCSF have cleared me for a Right Temporal Lobectomy which they say will end my nightmare.
Now we must raise quite a bit of money to get us through this journey. Beyond the medical bills comes the fact that we will have to be away from home for approximately 3 months which, even at the cheapest of properties will come with a hefty price tag.
We’ve hosted local fundraisers which are a start but we have a long wey to to go. On the advice of a friend, I’ve now gone to Online Fundraising.
Our site is http://www.gofundme.com/asau4 and we must now get this out to as many people and organizations who may have funds dedicated for this purpose.
If you have any other ideas or websites, etc. that might be of assistance to my family, I would be most grateful for the information.
Regards and gratitude,
Eric Gordon
